How to make Baked Strawberry Cake
Step 1 – Preheat the pan
To begin with this simple cake recipe, just preheat the oven at 200°C /390°F (180°C fan).Next, grease and line the cake pan with baking paper.
Step 2 – Wash and clean the strawberries
Then, wash and clean the strawberries. For the inside of the cake, dice some strawberries into 1.5cm/1 piece to make 1 cup strawberries. Cut and save the rest of the berries for garnishing.
Step 3 – Make the cake batter
Next, prepare the cake mix, place wet ingredients in a bowl and whisk well for 1 minute. Add dry ingredients then whisk well until the batter is lump free. Pour half into the cake pan, smoothen the surface. Scatter over the diced strawberries.
Step 4 – Bake the cake
Pour the remaining batter using a spatula and smoothen the surface, then top with halved strawberries, cut face down. Bake for 50 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the center, if it comes out clean, you don’t need to bake any longer. If it still has some batter on the skewer, cover it with foil if it starts getting too golden.
Step 5 – Garnish the way you like and enjoy!
Let the cake be there for 15 minutes in the cake pan before turning out onto the cooling rack. Allow the cake to attain room temperature. Dust with icing sugar, and serve with cream or if serving warm, ice cream!

- 500 gm strawberry
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon rinds
- 1 cup yoghurt (curd)
- 2 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1 Pinch salt
- icing sugar as required
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs- brown
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 handfuls strawberry
For Garnishing
- whipped cream as required
