  • 1 green chili, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala (optional)
  • 1/4 cup peas (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 small carrot, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1/4 cup bell pepper, finely chopped (optional)
  • A few curry leaves
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon juice (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Bread:
    • Cut the bread slices into small cubes and set aside.
  2. Heat Oil:
    • In a pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
    • Add cumin seeds and curry leaves, and sauté for a few seconds until aromatic.
  3. Sauté Vegetables:
    • Add finely chopped onions and green chilies. Sauté until the onions turn translucent.
    • Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.

    • Add peas, carrots, and bell pepper (if using). Cook until the vegetables are tender.
  5. Add Bread:
    • Add the bread cubes to the pan. Mix gently to coat the bread with the vegetable and spice mixture.
    • Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the bread is heated through and slightly crispy.
