Grease a baking dish or square pan with butter and preheat the oven to 175 degrees C (375 degrees F).
Step 2 – Prepare the batter for bread
In a large skillet, melt butter and gradually add in other ingredients like sugar, eggs, buttermilk and baking soda while whisking continuously till well-blended. Now add cornmeal, all-purpose flour and salt. Blend and ensure that there are almost no lumps remaining.
Step 3 – Bake the bread for 30-40 minutes
When the batter is ready, pour it into the baking dish or greased pan and bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes. Insert a toothpick and if it comes out clean, your golden crusty cornbread is ready!
