Ingredients:

  1. Dates – 1 cup, pitted and chopped
  2. Almonds – 1/2 cup
  3. Cashews – 1/2 cup
  4. Pistachios – 1/4 cup
  5. Walnuts – 1/4 cup
  6. Raisins – 1/4 cup
  7. Desiccated Coconut – 1/4 cup
  8. Poppy Seeds – 2 tbsp
  9. Ghee – 2 tbsp
  10. Cardamom Powder – 1 tsp

Instructions:

  1. Dry Roast the Nuts:
    • Heat a pan on medium heat and dry roast almonds, cashews, pistachios, and walnuts separately until they are slightly golden and aromatic.
    • Let them cool down completely.
  2. Grind the Nuts:
    • Once cooled, coarsely grind the roasted nuts in a food processor. Do not make it a fine powder; a coarse texture is desirable.
  3. Prepare the Dates:
    • In the same food processor, add the chopped dates and grind until it forms a smooth paste.
  4. Toast the Coconut and Poppy Seeds:
    • In the same pan, dry roast the desiccated coconut until it turns light golden.
    • Remove the coconut and roast the poppy seeds for a minute or until they start to pop. Set aside.
  5. Mix Everything Together:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground nuts, date paste, raisins, roasted coconut, and poppy seeds.
    • Add cardamom powder to the mixture.
  6. Forming the Laddus:
    • Heat ghee in a pan and pour it over the dry fruit mixture.
    • Mix everything thoroughly so that all ingredients are well combined.
    • Take a small portion of the mixture and roll it between your palms to form small balls (laddus).
    • Repeat the process until all the mixture is used up.
  7. Storage:
    • Store the dry fruits laddus in an airtight container. They can be kept at room temperature for up to a week or refrigerated for longer shelf life.

Enjoy your homemade, healthy Dry Fruits Laddus!
